Now You Can Use MS Office on Smartphones and Tablet Easily

Microsoft now offers MS office on Smartphones, iPad and other tablets. However it does make few different Office versions for mobile devices though they are not full.  For different Windows upgrade there are different Office editions. Thereafter you also have Office 365, Office Mobile and Office Online. Each of these has different characteristics as well as different payment structures.
They have the most featured-editions of Office. Microsoft is obviously trying to use Microsoft Office service thereby giving a push to the devices.
Windows RT and Windows 8
It is simple to use Office on Windows 8 tablets. You can also purchase complete desktop versions of MS office as well as use it on Windows 8 tablet just as you had done on the laptop. Office normally works in desktop mode, so you would have to use your tablet's desktop to take advantage of it. It isn't the ideal interface for a touch screen.
Most of the tablets of Windows 8 has no MS office suite and therefore it has to be paid for separately. However some includes it and some of the ten inch tablets include it. Microsoft's Surface Pro does not have it. The RT tablets do include the free edition of it though slightly limited. Say for instance no support for macros.
Windows Phone
Windows Phone has the free version called Office Mobile. Unlike for Android phones and iPhone this is completely free of cost and do not need the Office 365 subscription. Office Mobile is a basic version of Office meant for mobile phones. The documents can be viewed and basic editing can be done but cannot function as the complete productivity solution.
Microsoft now provides "Office Mobile for Office 365 subscribers" apps for Android and iPhone. It can be installed from the Apple's App Store or even Google Play. Office 365 is the subscription service of MS for MS Office. The user would get additional OneDrive storage ability and space to use Office 365 apps for Android and iPhone. These would allow you to create as well as edit documents stored in the OneDrive storage. In order to use these apps you do you have to subscribe them.
They are just simple Smartphone apps and not any productivity solution in the proper sense of the term.
Android Tablets and iPad –Office Online or Office 365
The Office Mobile was designed for smartphones. These simple apps do not have many features as that of the desktop PCS.  You cannot use full-featured versions of Office on iPads or even Android tablets.  You can try to use Office Mobile on iPad and Android tablets and you would be able to use simple mobile interfaces.  Office Online is free on any platform so you can use Office even on your Windows PC as long as you are happy using simple version within the browser.  However users look for good productivity solution than using an alternative office suite.
Remote Desktop Solutions
You can try remote desktop solutions. You can install MS Office on a Windows PC as well as use remote desktop software to access desktop from a Smartphone or tablet. A company that would like to provide Office on iPads would consider setting up the remote desktop sever to which workers can connect to.  Though it is not as effective as the local office app but you can get the full version on an Android, iPad, or other device.
